2020 UNOH Graduate Daniel Sanchez says he is living the dream. Sanchez was recently promoted at work, was able to move back home to be closer to family, and still travels the country racing (and winning) in his UMP modifieds.

Sanchez, who is from outside the Albany, NY area, learned about UNOH from a friend of the family who raced dragsters. He fell in love with the campus and was blown away by the motorsports team facilities. Sanchez threw himself into everything UNOH had to offer. He joined clubs and soon became a Racer Leader and member of the Motorsports Team.

Sanchez had some amazing accomplishments during his four years at UNOH. Even while studying on the tech side, he joined the university’s student chapter of the American Marketing Association. Sanchez was told he was really good at selling sponsorships for his own car, so he should consider club leadership. Eventually, he became club President.

A highlight of his time participating in the AMA club was during the National Conference in New Orleans in March of 2017. In only its fourth year of existence, UNOH’s AMA chapter was named the top small chapter of year.

As a student, he not only worked with the UNOH Motorsports Team but also raced his own Thunderstock. In 2018, he took home the crown and championship ring at Limaland.

After graduating with his associate's degree in Automotive/High Performance Motorsports, Sanchez stayed on for the 2+2 program, where he was really able to hone his marketing skills and harness his creativity.

After graduation, Sanchez took a position with Out-Pace Racing Products in Illinois. He really enjoyed this opportunity to test out what he learned when it came to selling and marketing racing products.

He then took an opportunity with Five Star Bodies in Wisconsin where he really enjoys building relationships and helping the company grow. Recently, this new position allowed him to work remotely, so he and his girlfriend made the leap to move back to his hometown.

Sanchez was proud to put on a great show on July 18th during Alumni Night at Limaland. He had a great night starting at 12th and moving up to finish in 6th place. He looks forward to more races in front of the crowds at Limaland in 2026!
